How You Can Help

If you’d like to get involved with my ministry here in Japan, I’d be so grateful.  Below are some options on how you can do that.

Prayer

Let’s start big.  I once heard a quote by an atheist (sorry, I have no idea which one), that said something along the lines of, “If I believed God were as powerful as the Bible says He is, I’d pray all the time.”  That stuck with me, and it comes to mind occasionally when I’m praying.  Prayer is the key to winning the Japanese for Christ.   Please join in praying for the Japanese people.  Intercede for them like Moses did for the Israelites.  And pray for me too, that I’d depend on God and not myself, and that I’d be effective in proclaiming the Gospel through a pretty tough language barrier.   I send out newsletters monthly, and I’d love to add you to this list.  Just drop me a note here and let me know if you’re interested.

Financial

There it is.  You knew it was coming.   Like most missionaries, I’m living on the support of others while I’m here in Japan.  Everything from ministry expenses to the cost of toothpaste has to be given from people in the states.  God has been good and my church, friends, family, and strangers have taken care of me.  When I left for Japan, I was 100% supported, and that’s amazing.  But, with the dollar continuing to drop, so does my support.  I’m not hurting, but I could use some help.  If you’d like to become a supporter, there are some options below.

Monthly Giver:  If you can give any amount of your income each month, that could be put to good use here in Japan.  And I do mean ANY amount.  Now I have supporters giving between $10 and $250 per month.  It’s not really about the amount, but about giving as God leads.  Nothing is too small.

Special Gift:  Some people can’t give a portion of their income each month, but can give as they have extra.  Special gifts can be in any amount and can be done whenever you like.  These will fill the gap when monthly support is low, or when there is a special expense for me.

The modes for giving are: check (instructions are below) or giving online (click the ‘online giving’ tab at the top of the page).

How to make out the check:

Checks should be made payable to Team Expansion.  Please do not put my name anywhere on the check for tax purposes.  You can leave the memo line blank, or write ‘donation.’  Because I am the only missionary receiving funds at the address below, there is no risk that the money will go to the wrong place by omitting my name.

Where to send the check:

Receipts

Currently I am sending receipts out once a month.  All gifts are tax deductible.  You will receive a record of your giving at the end of the year.

“You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God.  For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God.”
